ISTE Student Chapter – Dr. H N National College of Engineering

The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is India’s premier national-level professional, non-profit society dedicated to advancing the technical education system. With a strong presence across academic institutions, ISTE plays a pivotal role in improving teaching standards, promoting research, and enhancing the career prospects of both students and faculty.  This chapter is committed to fostering academic excellence, technical innovation, and personality development among students. The ISTE Student Chapter at Dr. H N National College Engineering is ably coordinated by Dr. Vikhyath K B, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

About ISTE
  • Established in 1968 and registered under the Societies Registration Act, ISTE evolved from the old APTI (founded in 1941).
  • National membership strength includes:
  • Over 28 lakh (128,000) technical teachers and 5.35 lakh student members.
  • More than 2,740 institutional members, including IITs, IISc, NITs, and other leading technical institutions.
  • A network of 1,414 faculty chapters and 1,505 student chapters nationwide, plus 19 state-level sections.

ISTE is recognized by the MHRD, AICTE, DST, NBA, and other key national organizations, and is actively involved in policy, curriculum updates, accreditation, and teacher training.

  • Partnership with AICTE, NBA, and state governments; organization of National/International conferences via academic grants.
