Library Facilities Including Digital Library

Library - "A Gateway to Infinite Knowledge and Academic Excellence"

The Dr. H N National College of Engineering, Jayanagar, came into existence in the year of 2024 and occupies over 120 square meters with a modest number of books and other documents. Since its inception, the Library has steadily increased its collection with a completely automated Library management system Libsoft 9.8.5. It provides web-based access to the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) of the Library. Student can borrow books at any time during college hours. Multiple copies ensure that resources are easily available for reference in the Library. We always strive to attain excellence through continual improvement in all spheres. Trained Staff are always at hand to assist the user community.

LIBRARIAN MESSAGE

The main aim of the Library is to provide the right documents to the right users at the right time. The Library mission is to enable the staff and students to engage optimally with the ever-changing information environment in order to succeed in their research, learning, and teaching goals. It has a compressive collection to meet the needs of its users. The Library holdings include a diverse collection of print, non-print computer resources for all users. The Library is fully computerized with Library management software Libsoft 9.8.5 version. It helps in accessing a wide range of materials, both in print and electronic version. I invite you to visit the Library in order to enjoy the wealth of information resources available in the Library in various forms.

Membership

Circulation

  • Documents are issued to all eligible members as per their entitlements.
  • Open access system is followed in this Library. Users are free to pick any book of their choice.
  • Use online Web OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) which shows the availability and status of the books.
  • Stack area for books in all disciplines are shelved as per the classification (DDC) number with open access.

Book Bank

  • SC/ST students are eligible to use this facility.
  • Along with 2 regular books 2 more additional books will be issued to SC/ST students.
  • SC/ST students should produce attested copy of their caste certificate at circulation section.
  • The facility is provided for category students, students are entitled to borrow two additional books.
  • SC/ST student’s barrowed books can keep entire semester without fine.
  • Students can barrow/return the books any time during Library working days.
  • Book Bank books are exclusively meant for SC/ST students only.

Reference Section

  • The Dr HNNCE Library maintains a separate reference section hosted on Library.
  • The collections consisting of Text books, Rare books, Reference books, Dictionaries, Directories, Handbooks, General & Competitive Exam books (GRE, GATE, GMAT, CAT, TOEFL etc.)
  • OPAC facilities are made available in all the sections and remote facilities also.
  • The reference section has 60 sq. mts and seating capacity 30 nos.
  • The newly arrived books are Available and Displayed in this section.
  • The New Arrival books will be informed to the departments and the list is available in Library Web OPAC/Website.
